Please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm gutted as I've just found two Oops Babies today.

I swore I'd never let this happen and I just can't work out how I missed this round of eggs.

I know they are the best and sweetest little bundles and anyone would be excited but unfortunately I know I'm in for a big broken heart here.

My set-up isn't geared for able bodied pigeons to live permanently. The ones I have are all unreleasable and disabled in some way, so as I know they have ...

I have new member of the family as from today.

When I was feeding my birds this morning, I noticed small baby Senegal dove moving around pigeons, but after that she disappeared and I forgot about her. It is baby bird season in SA and there are fledglings everywhere.

During my afternoon feeding, she was there again. This time she went strait to pigeons and started begging for food. At first it was funny because baby is smaller than sparrow. It jumped in front of ten times bigger pigeon and ...

This little baby arrived a couple of hours ago. I knew he was coming and so I had the incubator ready. He is actually 6 days old although no bigger than a 2 day old baby.

He was found, as a newly laid egg. The egg had been laid in a nest on a balcony at a hotel. When the family staying at the motel found out the nest and egg would be destroyed, they decided to bring the egg home with them and try to incubate it. Miracuiously it worked but that's where the miracle ended because they didn't ...

Hi,

I have just joined so soaking up all the advice and info at the moment, its been very helpful so thank you...

Two and a half weeks ago I noticed what looked like a baby pigeon being attacked by an adult, the bird could not fly and the adult was intent on pecking the babies head for some reason? Anyway, I managed to catch the youngster who was exhausted, shocked and hungry.

Knowing nothing about pigeons I started frantically trawling the net for any help I could get...I fed her ...

Hi - me again!

Just a few questions about what diet he should be having - any supplements, etc?

I'm currently feeding him seed mix for wild birds, which has a bit of everything in it. Plus he's having his defrosted sweetcorn which he does enjoy. He's still fairly rubbish at pecking - throwing it around in the bottom of his beak and then firing it out at his feet, and therefore losing sight of it But we are in training every day and he is improving very slowly. He's currently ...

I last fed him properly at about 6pm last night when he guzzled it down. It was maze (little bits, not whole kernels). He had a drink and seemed fine.

This morning he was fine when I went into him just after 6am. He only had a very small one go feed in his bottle which is normal for him that time of the morning. I then went back to him at 9am and found him underneath the settees we have in the summer house, which is most unusual.

He seemed cold and hungry so I brought him inside ...

As sent to me by Tech.

Here is their story as told by Tech...

Opposite to Charis/Matilda's experience about keeping her promise to herself - I didn't keep mine (promise) which I don’t regret. When I was a young girl, I used to tend different kind of birds on different times for many years. Most of them just fly out and won’t return. When the last pair died consecutively, I promised to myself not to take care of any kind of animals anymore because it hurts when they're gone. ...

Hi - I'm new to this forum having been recommended by Cynthia. She's been a huge help.

A baby wood pigeon fell out of the tree in the high winds on 25th August. He was only about 6 days old, but we thankfully found Cynthia's website which showed us what to do. He's now a gorgous little chap (or lady - how do you tell?) and sits on my shoulder.

We're going to keep him and hopefully find him some mates to pop in a large aviary in our garden as he's too tame to let go.

The thing ...
