Facial Swelling

I was over my friend's house today and she has a young pigeon with a swelling on the face. It is about the size of a small pea and is just above the cere on the right side. The upper beak is slightly distorted by the swelling and a little discolored, like a bruise. The inside of the upper beak looks clear and pink, although it looks just a little puffy like it's being pushed down by the swelling above it on the outside. The outside of the swelling is whiteish at the center like an abscess or ...

About 3 weeks ago I got a bird from my rehabber friend. She had it for maybe 2 months. It had been xrayed and found to have an old fracture of the wing, non releasable. When I got the bird it was moderately thin. The bird was wormed twice.

Since then it has been eating well for the most part and has had normal poops. But there's something not quite right with it. It still feels thin and it's listless. It's alert in the cage but not very active and lays down often. It has access to calcium ...

Twelve hours ago I'd tried to catch a small, fluffed-up pigeon half hidden in the vegetation in the park, but she flew away. A couple of hours ago I saw her huddled up against a tree trunk, with feathers sticking out on one side. As it was still dark it wasn't difficult to catch her this time.

She's got LOTS of feathers missing from one wing and her tail, but nothing broken. The wings are symmetrical and she's holding them well. There are no scratches but there's a little bit of bruising on ...

i read up alot on canker because i was worried about little oreo and it seems its exactly what he has. vomitting, not very often pooping, a hardness in the crop. also its spreadable?? should i seperate oreo and muffins?? that would break their little hearts now that i know more about this i remember, i found a baby pigeon on my back porch once and it had canker. a big buildup of yellow stuff in his mouth and throat, couldnt even feed him. he died that night. that information deffinately does ...

Just brought jome another patient from the park, where he was hiding in a lump of grass. My clever dog found him. He limped away from me while he could, but made no attempt to fly. Caught in broad daylight, not a good sign! :(

He's an adult, normal weight and size, limping noticeably. On the way home a few drops of liquid identical to that of the pigeon who died fell on my arm. Must have come from the beak. Liquid is cloudy, light brown to yellow, sour smelling.

The face and eyes are fine, and ...

For several days I have had my eye on this bird. She always arrived with the flock morning and evening but she would stand away from them looking fluffed and acting sleepy ...not a good sign.

Last evening, I watch as the flock left and she stayed behind, keeping herself standing by leaning against the chicken coop. I felt the opportunity to catch her had arrived and it didn't take much at all to corner her and pick her up. The first thing I noticed was her ice cold feet. She is also ...

Adult pigeon, no poops, no urates, just foul-smelling light-brown cloudy water in a pool under him.
No signs of canker or of any injury. Very light, thin and dehydrated.

After checking he wasn't cold, gave him tepid rehydrating fluid with multivitamins, suspecting PMV. An hour later (now) found him lying in a pool of liquid, with rapid and shallow breathing, unable to stand.

Suspect organ failure. Is it too late?

This is a little squeaker that found it's way to Kim's yard. She caught him on the 3rd.

I believe what initially caught her eye was his right eye looked to be 'stretched' and it does. Probably because there aren't any feathers around it.The left side is a mess.

She suspected canker and started him on Spartrix.

Bless his little birdie heart, he's eating, drinking and pooping like a trooper and has a wing slap like nobodys business.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

She sent me ...
