I know he would love to tell his story and also take the opportunity to thank everyone for their birthday wishes.

Right now he's busy keeping things in line in the aviary.

But I'm sure he will have a few minutes later on.

It's past my bedtime but Cindy said I could write a little bit about myself.

A few years ago I found myself wandering a very busy street in Phoenix, AZ.
A very kind lady saw me and gave me something to eat while she was eating her lunch outside where she works. For several days she would give me something to eat. She wanted me to come closer to her but I didn't.

One day she was not there. Many days and nights went by and she didn't return. There were other people that came by but they didn't give me anything to eat and shooed me away. They told me I needed to go somewhere else. But I didn't. I just knew the kind lady would return so I waited under some bushes.

Some more days and nights went by and I was very hungry. I found little things to eat from the ground. Then one day I saw the kind lady again eating her lunch as she had done before.

I came out from under the bushes and started to walk toward her. She was very happy to see me and I was very happy to see her. She told me she had to leave work for a while. I think she said she had to go on a vacation.

I decided she was OK to walk up to and take food from her hand.

She picked me up and took me home. She bought me a ver nice tall cage to live in.
But she couldn't keep me for very long. I didn't want to go back to the street. She told me I was going to go live with nice a family. And I did.

I have lived with Cindy and Chuck for 7 years.
I live in a nice large aviary with my mate Pij'ette, two daughters, Sadie and Sam, Son-in-law Malio and my two grandbirdies, Dolly and Dumpling and our good friend Rae Charles.

I better go to bed now.

If he was on the street, who would not pick him up and bring him home? He's a very handsome guy!!!! Happy Birthday Mikko! Wow 9!

Hi Tech,

The gal who rescued Mikko told me when she returned from vacation she asked her fellow employees about the white bird that was outside. Sadly she was told they tried to shoo him away.

Why anyone would do that is beyond me. It was clear he wasn't a feral bird and had no business being on the streets.
