Virgil in need of friends and a forever home...

As far as the bath, watching Cricket bathe got him to want to jump in. That usually works. He loves it now, and usually takes over the bath. By the time they're done, the water is all over the mat I put down for them. He's cute.
And as far as the non nest building, I haven't a clue. Like I said, I don't think she likes being caged at all. They're a pair, that's for sure.

Well things are looking up today. I put the egg in the bowl yesterday, and today, they have both been on nest duty. He seems never quite happy with the accomodations, and so is always rearranging things in the bowl. I put down some Timothy hay in their cage today, and of course Virgil had to try and work them into the nest. Very cute.

So I guess they are officially a couple.

PLEASE! These guys aren't even in the loft yet. We do have an occasional oops baby, but only out of carelessness on our part, or the craftiness of my birds. But I'm on to their sneakiness now. :Yes: Can't just let them all breed, or we would have too many birds for the loft. Too many is not healthy. And it causes a lot of stress on the birds. We could direct you to a video where that is the theme though couldn't we Charis? Like Bedlam! If I did that, then I wouldn't have had room for Virgil to move in. They're still on their Honeymoon. Let them enjoy it. LOL. Soon they will be settling down in the loft in a nest box all their own. That alone will be a big change for them. First though, Aries is settling in right now. And he seems to be doing pretty well.

When I removed them from the cage today to clean it, and put them in a cage next to it that I keep there for that reason, they didn't even care that they were not guarding their eggs. They were too busy kissing. Too much! :That\\\'s so f
