Update on a released rescue

Three years ago I found a squeaker lying by the patio who didn't move when I walked by. I bend over to pick him up and he tried to get away but had no ue of his right leg.

Upon examination I discovered his leg was broken and swingling like a pendulem.

I did the best job I could to splint the leg, as I had never had to attempt that before.
A week later he began to put a little pressure on his 'bad' leg.
A couple weeks later I removed the splint and he was able to use the leg, however favoring it.

A week later he had full use of his leg. I felt he was ready to be released to the backyard flock.

He has stayed around since his release. A couple of days ago I heard the sweet sounds of a little squeaker. I looked out and saw an adorable little blue bar following the released pigeon with his wings extended begging for a meal.

My guess is he brought his son/daughter to meet the flock and get established.

I got some pictures that I thought would be fun to share with all of you.

I remember that little bird...I have even wondered about him from time to time....what did you call him?
