Very pretty! Sounds like you are having our usual luck Charis... lack of hens! Last year we desperately needed hens but we still need a few.

I've wondered if there are more male pigeons hatched than female????
Sometimes I suspect its usually the males that aren't that smart & end up having to be rehabbed!


Anyway I do hope this pretty one turns out to be a hen

Charis, Is this bird the Little Lost Doll Baby that was hanging around the drive thru coffee place? Did you manage to finally catch him/her.?

In any case, he/she is a beautiful little bird.

No...this is a completely different bird. Little lost Doll Baby hasn't been there the last couple of time I stopped to try and catch her.

This bird was found by the nice lady that rescued Fallen. She called yesterday to say this bird was on her front porch and couldn't fly. She told me the bird was unable to fly and kept falling over. After checking the bird over, some of the foot feathers have been bleeding, the feathers are long and I think the bird's feet hurt.
I suspect the bird was ht by a car or flew into a window. He/she is much more active this morning and is eating well. The poops look great.

The problem this posing for me, is that I am more than full. I have no room left anywhere for even one more bird.

It seems I'm not the only one with the 'too many male pigeon' syndrome. I cannot think why it is that there are more males in rehab than females. Strange.

If I could take this pigeon from you Charis, I would! I hope you find it a home soon - it can be hard though with so many pigeons out there that need rehoming. Good luck!

Well...I was right...this one is a male. He is adorable and sweet. I've named him Oz.

Just keeps getting better and better! LOL.
