Peppi and Peppino are on the way to healing

You might have read already the horror story about the attack on our sweet little babies, Peppi and Peppino. If you did not you can read it here: pigeon talk.

And here are the new photos as of today - the sweeties seem to comfort one another:







I very much hope that it was the first and the last attack ever!

I also hope there are no more attacks. Thank you for taking such good care of them.

It was a horrible thing to happen to them, but they look well now, bless their little hearts.

Squabbies are really fond of each other. Someone once brought me a sick white dove squeaker and another followed a few days later...they had obviously been nest mates because when they saw each other they both ran forwards and started to preen each other.

What a frightening experience those two little ones had.

I'm glad to see they appear to be doing OK now.
Just like human siblings, they look to each other for comfort in troubled times.

Yes - I am so very glad as well that this came to a happy end. I am busy watching them the whole day and their parents seem to be very alert now too. As if they have realized what had happened.

As you can read in Pigeon Talk the story is not over yet. A nearly attack took place today - that mean pij came indeed back to finish his job.

Well - I took pre-cautions now - our sweet babies are indoors now. Won't give that bad boy another chance!

My heart skipped a beat when I read your last post, and it's a relief to know the attack was foiled and the babies are safe indoors.

You know what, Teresa, that damn pij appeared again 2 days ago, sitting on a stool that is in front of my window and the babies started to scream - they were hanging inside of course - they can look through the window and they recognized him immediately - through the window. As I knew that they had been fed minutes ago I also knew it could not be the usual begging for food. I just could not believe my eyes and I ran outside immediately to chase him off with the water sprayer again.

This damn pij will try it again - I suppose...

I suppose all you can do for now is raise your babies on superfood so that they become champion wrestlers when they gorw up. Then the bully will leave them alone -- we hope!
