| My guys finished their molting and now Beautiful, Blueberry and Little Dove are molting again, big time. I'm wondering if they were just beginning their molt while the aviary birds were into their major molt. Blueberry looks like Poor Pitiful Pearl. I found one of Beautiful's fantail feathers so I thought it would be fun to compare it's size with Phoenix. It was nearly as long as Phoenix is from the tip of his beak to the tip of his tail. | |

| I think I have had sufficient feathers just on the balcony recently to construct my own King Pigeon | |

| Mine are looking like old dusters and as per Charis' idea I'm starting mass production of pillows. | |

| Our loft is actually inside the outside dog kennel and, for now, there is a California Aviary on the kennel-side of the loft. I brought the dogs in yesterday and it looked like THEY were molting!!! On inspection, I guess the dogs had been standing under the aviary .... and the pijjies were pushing their feathers out thru the screening. The Shelties were covered with pigeon feathers!!! | |

| Given the frequency of molting, followed by flying feathers, there will be another opportunity. | |

| Ohhh no doubt! Tho, the REAL aviary is about to be completed so the dogs won't (I hope) be under the birds...but standing outside looking in. Perhaps we'll graduate to 'birds tossing feathers while dogs leap at the aviary walls' ... Oh yeah - NEVER a dull moment at Wolfwood.... | |
