| Hello, I was just wondering if you know of any good pigeon books, e.g. ones about their care, different breeds, about loft construction, etc. I've got 2 thin books about pigeons, however, they provide only basic information. I've searched for books on Amazon but some of the books are quite old and I don't know how reliable they may be.
Thank you! | |

| No one answered your question. Let me do some digging around and see what I can come up with. There are some you will appreciate. This reply is also a bump up to other members. | |

No problem, I was just wondering if anyone had any good books lying about that they'd recommend. Thank you for your recommendations! Jenaka, thank you too! I found this website that has some interesting looking pigeons books: http://www.everythingforpets.com/category/use.dept.74/Since many pigeons books seem to be more on the costly side I'll need to make a shortlist of what looks best and start saving! I have to admit, I'm a bit of a bookworm and have a tendancy to bulk buy on Amazon!

| So sorry I didn't see your post I have found the best information can be found on the internet. When I find good info I print it out and add it to my "Pigeon Info" folder, I also have a "Pigeon medical" Folder, a "Loft" folder.... I find this way that when I need the information I cangrab the correct folder and its there. I purchased so many books, I love them books, just to find that only part of it up to date. Hope this helps a bit. | |

That's actually a brilliant idea. Books can be so expensive so with a bit of good research I'm sure I'll find enough info to put into a 'pigeon folder'. Thank you for the idea!!

| You can also check to see if the library has any pigeon books. I found a couple at my local library. | |

| Thanks for the link, Jen. That 1913 Pigeon Raising book would be a great collector book. Especially being in nearly mint condition. | |

| I love the link, Jen. Some of the books look like they have amazing illustrations. Damaged books, such as ones that are falling apart, with beautiful illustrations are good candidates for framed art. I'm going to look through the list a little more carefully when I have more time. | |

| I have this one... Encyclopedia of Pigeon Breeds; Wendell M. Levi
It's quite a fascinating book and the pictures are amazing. Much of the inness section is way out dated and pigeon medicine has come a long way since that section of the book was written.
