Need ideas...

Kong is a Giant Runt that came to us through Dez. He is a heavy pij, so does not fly and refuses to perch on most... yes even very low perches and thats my problem.

I have tried bricks, very low, 2-3 in. off the floor, perches. Does anyone have any other ideas?

...Maybe he would like a cement block to perch on or a long flat shelf closer to the floor.

Does he have any trouble getting around? Maybe you could make a ramp up to a low perch?

umm so why do you need him to perch I have a few indian fans that rarely leave the floor and they have no problem with that

Yeah I was going to ask the same question. Our feral Elmo doesn't perch.

It is nice to have them not directly on the cold floor this time of the year.

Charis even a cement block is too high for this big guy.

I did put a very low perch, about 2-3 in. off the floor, in for him again.

The reason I worry is becuase we are located in WI. where the winters get very cold, well below 0 temps. are not unusual, and even though we have at least 3 in. of ground corn cob on the loft floor I still worry about his feet getting too cold. :eek:

Kong gets around very well... he waddles like a duck and is very happy.

Jenn he has his own special door out to the flight that has ramps which he uses all the time,
I'll try putting a ramp on the perch too.
