Mr and Mrs Zesus

Mr. Zesus has been with me since 1997. Last year he went to live in Landy's loft with his mate, Mrs. Zesus. She had been with me since 2005. She had been living in a local pet shop, with a broken wing and they waited for me to come in for supplies to see if I would take her. Whe they didn't just call me, I'll never know. Long story short, her wing had been broken far too long to be set. She has learned to get around by jumping on things to reach some height but she would be a gonner if she ever got out side.
Mr.Zesus, some how lost the sight in one of his eyes while they were away and so given they both have a disability, they have returned to me.
I adore them both and so it's good to have them home again.

Mrs. Zesus

Pretty birds, and looking so snug on that comfy nest of Timothy hay. Glad you got them back home.

Years ago, Mr Zesus, was the terror of the loft. He picked on all the other cock birds and chased the hens relentlessly. It took a couple of years but he mellowed into the dearest old soul. Of course now he is very easy to catch if I approach him on his blind side.

Mr. Zesus does look quite comfy in his nest.

I think he is comfy. He was having a difficult time getting into the nest box at Landy's loft and there is much more room for him to navigate here. The box he's in is a modified book case that was on it's way to the dump. I had a handy man put some dividers in it for nest boxes and several of the pigeons have claimed one and enjoy lounging in the timothy hay after a bath.

You never throw something like that out. It makes great nestboxes.

What a wonderful couple, and it's great to know that they're back in your care!
I knew that well looked-after pigeons lived longer, but I had no idea it could be as long as 15 years! I hope mine will also live to become senior citizens!

Looks to me like Mr. & Mrs. Zesus are really happy being back home

I'm so happy you have been able to make them totally comfortable in their "Golden Years"

Mrs. is still quite young by comparision, at 5 years. When she first arrived, she followed Cutied Pie around like a love lorn teenager but he paid her no mind and he was quite content with his mate. I always thought they would make a cute couple as they are both so small.

Isn't that cute! They're both such beautiful birds. Cute that they sleep together. My Basil and Pepper do that.
