Jay found this video on YouTube and sent it to me. I don't know why this method wouldn't work for removing any creature form one of those nasty glueboards.

Don't know if the glues on the insect boards are the same as on the animal glue boards. If so, then it would work. Maybe I should buy one and try it. Thought it was interesting though.

That was a good find, Jay.
A while back Tanya Tucker had a reality show and her son's snake got caught on something like that and I remember they used cooking oil to help with getting it released. I had completely forgotten about that until I saw this video.
If we come across a bird that has been caught on a glue trap, it sure wouldn't hurt to give the cooking oil a try.

I'll let you know if Hoots hand comes out easily with cooking oil. Or maybe I should try his hair to be more realistic? What do you think?

Hoot would go along with anything. Good sport that way.

Good sport?...maybe. Mostly...I think he would go along with anything you want because he loves you so much.

You know what would work great...that oil you can spray from a can. That way...it would be easier to control the amount of oil.

You're right, or pour some into a cheap little spray bottle.

Did you know that olive oil can be purchased in a spray can? I use it all the time.

No. I didn't know that. Thanks. I do use that a lot.

I think that if poor Hoot is going to get his hand (or worse, hair) stuck, and then he's going to get sprayed with olive oil, you'll have to do the dance of the seven veils to make it up to him!
