| Was in town centre of a nearby town and found this pigeon not being able to fly. His wing was in a funny position so we got a towel from a charity shop and took him all the way to Brook Farm Animal Sanctuary where they can check him over and release him once he's all right. I named him Soot due to his blackness and I apologise to the pigeon if he is actually a she! I don't know how to sex pigeons I'm afraid. Here is a picture of the sweet thing. He was very well behaved in the car. | |

| What a darling baby!!! I've also been looking after a squeaker the same age as Soot, and they are so adorable! I'll keep my fingers crossed that the sanctuary will be able to treat his wing. Youngsters have marvellous powers of recovery. (I'm also calling Soot 'he', mostly because of that mischievous look in his eye. It's hard to sex pigeons, and, unless you know the parents and an awful lot about pigeon genetics, it's practically impossible to sex a baby.) | |

| Oh my goodness!! How cute is he? Bless you for scooping up this adorable bundle of feathers and getting him to the sanctuary, zebani. I will be thinking the best thoughts possible that he recovers without incident and will be able to fly free and fly safe. Please let us know if there are any updates. | |

| Only a small update. He is eating and drinking well. Hopefully I'll be able to see him tomorrow if I'm well enough (I have a bad headache at the moment that I can't seem to shift). | |

| Not much to update. They think he's got a broken wing but they can't be sure till their vet seems him. Also, he's got a grey pigeon friend now that he is in a large crate with who also has a broken wing...so much so his wing is in a pink cast. | |

| Turns out he has got a broken wing and needs cage rest....probably not broken that badly if he doesn't need a cast. | |

| Thanks for the update, Zebani. I'm sorry to hear his wing really is broken, but relieved to know it's not a bad break and will be healed with cage rest. Have you managed to resist the temptation to give him a name? | |

| Appareciate your updates on Soot, Zebani. I'm sorry to hear the wing is in fact broken, but relieved to hear that it's doesn't seem to be a severe break. Please keep us posted on how he's doing. | |
