| Hello, yesterday a man found this little guy, he was a little weak, and the pooh were not really good, so I think he haven't eat very much recently and he has a lot of parasite... brrrrr... he was full of those horrible flies that eat blood... I saw on him about 7-8 flies.... I sparyed him with an antiparassite spray, and I feed him (thanks to Teresa that gave me the right advice and tell me what I have to do) with some bread and seeds. Now I put some peas over the fridge, so I'll give him those. Here is a picture of the new arrival in my home! | |

| Ah, that's Nocciola!!! Such a cutie-pie! Sorry I'd missed this post before, Marta! I hate those pigeon flies as well, horrible creatures! Seven of those on a single youngster are enough to weaken him considerably, and they also transmit canker and other diseases. Glad to know he's doing well! | |

| He peck him whe Nocciola's too much stressing him and peeping too much XD But I wiew he's nice, not really strong peack... maybe he want only to say him "hey...do it in silence" hahahah But it's funny seeing Nocciola exciting for eating with him and Ottaviano so serious... poor Nocciola... These are other pictures of him!! He's still thin, but now his poops are better, so I think I'm feeding him like a pig | |

| Ah , I forgot to ask you, is it normal for a pigeon of this age have the legs so far one from the other? He's standing up like an "A"... some time... I've to add him calcium in his diet? Sometimes I add to the mixture a mix of minrelas... | |

| He is adorable, I love them at that age especially. I used to worry when they walked with their legs so far apart but having seen a few youngsters now doing the same, I don't think it's anything to worry about. It reminds me of a human baby learning to walk. Janet | |

| It's difficult to see from one photo if his legs are too far apart -- as Janet said, youngsters sometimes stand like that. Other times, they can skid a little on a smooth surface, and newspaper can be a bit slippery. You can try scrunching up the newspaper a little before putting it down, as that will give him more friction under his feet and will help him to walk better. Another idea is to stick a couple of sheets of kitchen tissue to the top of his newspaper, because they're textured and easier to walk on. | |

| Yes Teresa's right, just having something to grip onto will help a lot.
I took lots of pictures of one of my youngsters a while ago as I was so worried about how he stood and walked with his legs apart. His nest box was on a slightly smooth shelf at the time and when he first came out to explore, I noticed his feet would slip as he waddled along. Put him on a rougher base and although he was still like it when he stood he walked better but it was his age in the end as he's fine now. Then his little brother when he was born was exactly the same when he started to walk. He's turned out fine aswell.
Good luck
