Moving Day!

I finally got the aviary moved to our enclosed patio.
I think the hardest part was catching these guys to put them in cages while the move took place.
Mikko, Pij'ette and Samantha were more interested on what was going on outside than watching Sean and me move their home.

We had intended on enlarging the aviary, but Chuck just hasn't had enough time off, at one time, and I really needed to get them moved. I think they'll do just fine.

They all seem to have taken the move well and were sure exploring their new surroundings.
Samantha took to lounging by the 'pool'.

I hope to get some better photos but wanted to share these with you.

Great move. It looks like the perfect place for them...fresh air ... watching the ferals close up!

I think they will adjust to the move just fine.

As to their new position, it seems as though Malio now wants to take over Mikko, Pij'ette and Sam's territory. :For Shame:

He had to spend last night in the motel (the roomy cage under Mikko's area), because he just couldn't behave himself.
I let him out this morning hoping he would have settled down.
Apparently that wasn't on his agenda. Soooo, he back in the motel for a while.

It was kind of funny, Dolly was on the perch in front of the motel 'visiting' with Malio and probably telling him, "It really is too bad, I've been there, done that a few times."

Gee that looks great. Bet they're gonna love it out there. As far as the motel. That's cute. Every now and then I have the same problem here, and have to do the same thing. Pigeons can be stubborn. Sometimes, when they get a bee in their bonnet, it takes a little convincing to change their minds. How is he doing now?

Not too good! Malio and Sadie are spending a few days in the motel. They absolutely will not leave Mikko and his 'girls' alone. I just don't get it! Or better yet THEY just don't get it.

Magellan (aka Birdzilla) was warned that he was destined for the same but, fortunately, he cleaned up his act! It's now looking like Luna may be next for a Time Out ...although he's now got a woman and eggs (plastic) so maybe some responsibility will help ...

They are just so funny (tho' it's all deadly serious to a pigeon) and wilful! I bet so many people with a bunch of pigeons can tell similar stories of their antics. It's a sure thing that our aviary is kind of like a TV soap.

Even outside on my balcony they have their little dramas. They each have their own roosting spot, yet almost every night there are scuffles on the window ledge where 'my' Capuccino has to defend his prime position from others who always end up in their familiar places anyway.

It used to be Dolly and Dumpling who were constantly in trouble with Grandpa, but since they've moved outside Malio seems to want to move in with the in-laws. :For Shame:

As soon as I turn my back, and I'm not kidding, I hear Malio fly back over to Mikko's place. I start to turn around & I can see Malio out of the corner of my eye high tailing it back home.
It used to be kind of cute. It's not that cute anymore. It's turning out to be a affair.
