Faon [Persimmonspea] called Sunday to tell me about a squeaker she had rescued. The little bird had been in a nest she had been keeping an eye on for a couple of weeks. The home owner was preparing to add a deck right under the nest and at the time, Faon was worried that all the construction would frighten the parents form the nest, leaving the babies abandoned. That didn't happen...thankfully, but on Sunday one baby fell two stories and was injured.
Sweetest little bird that probably has a fracture in the hip. Poor little thing was covered...and I mean covered with mites. I took a picture right after we sprayed her.

The poor little bird uses her wings to get around and it is painful to watch.
The plan is to remove the other baby from the nest so that eventually, they can both be released together. Doing so will increase the survival of each of them.
Faon has been having some computer issues and I hope that soon she will be able to give us a little more information.

Oh poor baby. Not feeling well I'm so glad you have him Charis. Pigeon angel

Can you confine him in a doughnut nest until his hip heals? He must be in pain. Not feeling well

I hope Faon is able to rescue the sibling.

I don't know, Louise. I left a message, asking Faon but I haven't heard back yet. I'll post as soon as I do.

Sorry Charis, I totally misunderstood your original post. I thought she had brought the baby over to you and that you had her.

I hope the baby is allright.

Oh she's cute! Poor thing. That has got to be very painful. I hope she gets the sibling, as it too must be covered with mites or lice. I hope she will be okay. Thanks for sending me the link to this Charis, as I hadn't seen this post.
