I sure hope this group is able to achieve their goal to 'Shut 'em Down'.

I just found this North Carolina radio show episode on pigeon shoots. The man doing the show in anti-shoot. The callers are mostly hunters who don't approve of shoots. They do talk about hunting for food. It says part 2 but I couldn't find part 1.

I'm listening to the show right now and I can tell you my blood is over the boiling point with some of these idiots.

The caller talking about the prairie dogs makes me equally as sick as those shooting pigeons.

I was glad to hear one of the callers was a wildlife rehabber.

A group of animal rights activists vowed today to take its war against Pennsylvania’s remaining live pigeon shoots directly to the people this year, aided by a $1 million gift from former television personality Bob Barker.
That money will be used to fuel a Web site entitled "PAShame.org," billboards depicting a falling, blood-spattered feather, and possible television and radio spots, said Steve Hindi of Illinois-based Showing Animals Respect and Kindness, or SHARK.
"We’re going to put these billboards up all over Pennsylvania," said Hindi, who said his group had documented two shoots in Bucks and Berks counties just this weekend. "And if Pennsylvania wants to be a pariah — not only in this country but in the world — just let these pigeon shoots keep going."
Hindi, speaking at a Capitol news conference, also issued a warning to Attorney General and Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Corbett — whom he accused of failing to charge shoot organizers under the state’s existing cruelty to animals statute — that he can expect a SHARK presence at some of his campaign rallies.
"The protests are coming back," Hindi said, vowing to "find out Corbett’s campaign schedule, and me and Tom are going to be good buddies."
A Corbett spokesman said SHARK’s wrath may be misplaced. Kevin Harley contended violations of animal cruelty statutes are clearly in the jurisdiction of county prosecutors, and the Attorney General’s office could only intervene at the request of local prosecutors.

On Feb. 9, 2010, SHARK signed a contract with Clear Channel Outdoor for a billboard to be placed on Route 95 in Philadelphia, starting the week of March 15. We paid the full amount, $2,626, up front, and everything was set to go

We were shocked when we received an email on March 1, the very day the billboard was to go up, from Clear Channel saying that they were pulling the billboard because of "content on the website."

"I knew immediately that there was something bigger going on here," states Stuart Chaifetz, SHARK Media Coordinator. "They had this billboard for weeks and never said a word, then suddenly there is a problem with content on the website?

This alone would have me drawing up court paper in a heartbeat.

It really is! I'd heard there's a lot of very rich and influential people among the pigeon shoot supporters, and here's the proof. Are those lobbyists really powerful enough to break the law?! :For Shame:

They know all the tiny unseen angles! Thats why they get paid so much!

It makes me sick. No mater how much money there is to make the public aware...the gun association just comes up with more so they can continue their torture.

Recently I was at the supermarket looking for coffee. My eye was caught by a container of coffee called Bucks County Coffee Co. It seemed familiar and after a few minutes of thought I realized where I heard the name from. Bucks County is where the pigeon shoots are being held that Shark is trying to stop.

I'm going to contact the company and tell them their name is now associated with animal cruelty and needless to say I didn't buy their coffee!
