A NEW ROUND OF PIGEON SHOOTS

A new round of pigeon shoots are scheduled for this weekend. Below is information in part that I received from Shark.
I plead with you all to contact the land owner where the shoots are going to occur and ask him to stop allowing the shoots on his property.



DEAR FRIENDS,

We are sending out a reminder regarding the protests this weekend (at Wing Pointe) and next Tuesday at the Carlton Pools retail store in Bucks County PA.

The protest on Tuesday Feb. 22 will be at 311 York Road, Warminster PA from 11AM to 1PM. For those who cannot attend, we ask that you call ALL of the Carlton Pools locations that day to show your opposition to the vile live pigeon shoots that Carlton Pools owner Joseph Solana Jr. has at Wing Pointe. The contact information for the stores is at the end of this email.

Also, both www.PAshame.com and www.Callitcruelty.com have been renovated and updated with new videos and information. Please forward these websites so that more people will learn about the horror of live pigeon shoots and why they must be stopped.

A massive two-day shoot will happen at Wing Pointe on Saturday Feb. 19 and Sunday Feb. 20. Please join us both days as we protest this disgusting and vile mass slaughter for the last time this season.

SHARK has a three-part campaign against pigeon shooting at Wing Pointe. We ask that you participate as much as you can so that our combined voice will be heard loud and clear!

2. Protest at Carlton Pools at 311 York Road, Warminster PA from 11AM to 1PM.

On Feb. 5, activists braved rain, snow and freezing temperatures to speak up for pigeons in a protest outside of Carlton Pools in Bucks County, PA. Carlton Pools is owned by Joseph Solana - the same man who owns the Wing Pointe canned hunting resort where horrific acts of animal cruelty have happened.

Immediately following the mass weekend slaughter, Carlton Pools celebrates the seasonal reopening of it's retail stores on Tuesday, Feb. 22. This is a perfect opportunity for us to educate the public about the horrors of live pigeon shoots.



3. Contact Carlton Pools and Wing Pointe on February 22

If you cannot attend a protest on Tuesday, then please contact all the Carlton Pools locations on Tuesday, Feb. 22 and politely request that owner Joe Solana stop allowing cruel pigeon shoots on his property. Your support will show Joe Solana and his pals that our compassion and strength far outmatches their cruelty and greed.

Help Stop Pigeon Shoots in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania is the last state to openly practice live pigeon shoots – an archaic competition where live pigeons are used as shooting targets. Please help put an end to this cruel and barbaric event by contacting your Pennsylvania state legislators through the form below and asking them to support House Bill 1411 and Senate Bill 843.

During these events, the often-dazed pigeons are released from their cages and launched from spring-loaded boxes into the air. Participants shoot the pigeons with the goal of having the lifeless birds land within a specific target. Typically, seventy percent of the birds used in pigeon shoots are shot and wounded rather than killed outright, with some wounded birds left to suffer long, excruciating deaths. In a single day, hundreds to thousands of birds are shot.

In 1999, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court held that anti-cruelty laws apply to pigeons, yet still the shoots continue.

Please help put a stop this senseless cruelty today! Contact your legislators and ask them to support House Bill 1411 and Senate Bill 843. Please note: you must enter a Pennsylvania address to complete this action.
