This is a short video of a daddy pigeon feeding one of his babies.
The dad pigeon has a broken wing, however, he managed to attract a mate and they made a nest in a hospital courtyard. Unfortunately there was some renovations to take place in the courtyard so the hospital staff had to catch up the family so they wouldn't get hurt. The mother pigeon could fly and they didn't manage to catch her but the daddy and his two babies were safely taken to a rescue centre where I finally managed to take this video (every time I tried he would stop which was so annoying because I could hear the babies squeaking to him, begging to be fed - and I really wanted to video it!).
So here is what I managed to catch:

What a riot...dad feeding one babe and the other eating on his own. Thoser babies just couldn't be any cuter at all.
I feel real bad though, that the mom lost her family. I'm glad they are safe.

We asked the hospital staff to try to catch the mum again but apparently she hasn't appeared, probably also due to the renovation works disrupting the area. But I feel bad for her too.

What a handsome guy! And a great daddy. Were they nesting on the ground?

Yes they did. The dad has a broken wing and he can't even lift it up so he can only walk about.

That is a bitter sweet story. A shame the mother couldn't be caught but so good the father and babies are safe and in care.

Love the video by the way.

An update on this story:
We put the daddy pigeon and his two babies in an aviary next to an aviary with 10 feral pigeons in it (that are waiting to be released) and you'll never guess what we found out! ... Daddy pigeon is actually a Mummy pigeon!!
It seems the people who rescued her and her babies didn't have their facts right. I forgot to ask them why they thought the adult pigeon was a dad - I simply took their word for it (I thought they'd probably seen the pair mate or something like that). Well, the male pigeons in the other aviary went bananas for the mummy pigeon - dancing and cooing away - so we have no doubt what sex the pigeon is.
We will be rehoming her (since she cannot fly due to a broken wing) to an aviary that needs females after her babies have reached independance.
