| Can anyone offer recommendations for food and water dishes for pet pigeons? I've been using things like styrofoam bowls with rocks in the bottom, and other make-shift contraptions, but they keep getting tipped over or pooped in or some similar fate... | |

| i give my pigeons a low wide white dish (plastic) so even if they step on the edges its too wide to tip at all and for some reason i notice dmy pigeons only eat and drink out of white containers. the water dish is heavy glass so it wont tip over | |

| Here's a picture of some of the things I use. The 3# coffee container is there for scale. The green one has hooks that fit over the bars of a cage. It holds about 1 1/4 cups. The purple bowl is a heavy crockery that is hard to tip over. It holds 1 1/4 cups The yellow bowl is a heavy plastic crock that is also hard to tip over. I use that one for seed. This one holds about 2 cups of seed. Each is inexpensive and can be found at most larger pet shops. The crocks your might find in the rabbit/rodent part of the store and they come in various sizes. I like the little containers with the hooks for grit and one for oyster shell. | |

| I use the plastic 'cup' kind that hook on the side of the aviary or cage. They work great. | |

| That's the kind I use for the grit and oyster shell. They have become hard to find here. I really like them. | |

I get mine at PetCo. They seem to have plenty. | |

| For the pigeons in the loft I use a plastic chicken waterer. If they need to stay in the house use the hook-on cups. | |
