I'm so glad Hercules and Piper are back together again.

Hercules is behaving! In fact, he's never been such a gentleman before, taking turns on the nest and everything! I think Priya is right, they decided they missed each other too much!

Pippin is also behaving and not pecking Sammy. Not that Pippin could do much damage: she's tiny, and delivers puny little pecks -- quite unlike Sammy, if she should choose to defend herself! Either way, they've been sitting together on the nest, cooing. I tried to film that, but every time I tried, Pippin got up to come and check the camera!

Oh, I wish... Hercules is in solitary again...
Two days ago, he pecked Piper hard, and I told him off and put him on time out for 4 hours. When I brought him back he was behaving himself. Then suddenly today he started again, worse than before, so now he's spending a day on his own.
I hate having to do that, especially because poor Piper dotes on him and looks unhappy when he's not with her, but he has to learn that he can't get away with domestic violence.

It must be the warm weather that does it! Last time he did this was also when it got hot here.

And Pippin got a warning today too, after she took a peck at Sammy. Sammy wasn't hurt, but she got so upset that she started having seizures again.

Honestly!!! Maybe I need to call the pigeon police...

I'm so sorry that Sammy had such a reaction, Teresa.
She has been doing so well.

"We still love you Hercules and Pippin", (even if you have been a bit naughty).

Oh no - but I have observed this kind of behaviour too when the weather is strange. At the moment I am very sad again because Winnie has disappeared. I have observed Charly a couple of times being very rude to Winnie so I assume that she is gone because she did not want to accept this behaviour any longer. I so very much hope that my little baby is okay.

After so many months of taking care for her while she had PMV I miss her so much.

My two little rascals are behaving... The temperature has also dropped a couple of degrees and it's no longer stifling. I suppose it could be that...

Our Frank and Jesse were together for many years and Frank became very mean towards Jesse. Like Winnie, she too left.

So when the new cage arrives, I'm going back to plan A and putting George and Abby in it, and Piper and Hercules will have the two I joined together for George and Abby -- because Hercules, with his bad leg, won't be able to get through into the smaller cage, but Piper will, when she wants to be alone. Strophe will stay in my study instead.
Now to rethink the accessories for their particular needs...

I brought him back this morning (kept a close eye on him), but by mid afternoon he went crazy again, so he's in the other room tonight again... (sigh...)

I went through that with Dolly. I can't tell you how many times he was removed from the common area of the aviary.
He was literally a pain in the backside.
Interestingly enough, it's only been since Mikko (Dolly's grandpa) passed away that he has straightened up.

How curious! I wonder why that is... Is it possible that he wanted to be the alpha male and saw Mikko as the old king that he had to challenge?
