| The last month I have had to seperate Honey from here mate due to her feeling & acting listless and his endless pestering. She is in a cage on a underneath heat source. All of the doves have been going through their moult & because of the air conditioning, the doves are kept in our basement, they have stopped laying eggs. I am happy to say that yesterday she laid an egg and is alomost back to her alert happy self. Since all of the dove hens consistently lay we have been adding extra calcuim to their diet. | |

| I'm been having some issues with my hens and laying as well, Robin. I suspect the cause may be from lack of direct sunshine that allows them to soak in the vitamin D on their feathers. Currently, I'm very worried about my Romey. She laid an odd looking eggs last week and nothing since. I've been supplimenting her with calcium and vitamin D combination. She can get into the sun, via the window cage but she doesn't. Deb is on vacation and won't be back until Monday. I'm happy Honey laid her egg . She is a very pretty little thing.

| Thanks Charis & Cindy. Charis you mentioned the lack of sun, I have a full spectrum,10.0, light on them 10 hrs. a day because here I have no way of getting them out to enjoy the sun. Her feathers look so scraggly, you can see in the photo how bad they look, she's the only one of the 8 doves that looks like this. | |

| I heard a local breeder say that his hens that were sitting on eggs were looking unwell when the temperature rose suddenly, while the others that were moving about were okay. He physically lifted the more stubborn sitters off the nest for a minute a few times a day, and they improved -- or so he says. What do you think? Best wishes for Honey and Romey. | |

Best wishes for Honey and Romey. Honestly...I don't have any thoughts but I'll think about.

I don't know why it couldn't be possible. I would wonder where the nests are located. Are they in areas where there is little ventilation? Is there sunlight coming in on them? Interesting thought, though.
