Sick seagull baby Empty
PostSubject: Sick seagull baby   Sick seagull baby Icon_minitimeTue Aug 04, 2015 12:55 pm

First off, I know this is a site for pigeons but I have no where else to turn as of now. A week or so ago I took in a baby gull where the parents had been killed on the road. She was pretty cold when I took her in and didnt want to eat anything. I gave her some tuna, uncooked fish and some bread soaked in water and she ate and everything has been going fine until now.

3 days ago I noticed her droppings was getting yellow and very watery and later green and firm. I didn't think much of it but 2 days ago she started being very weak, she couldnt walk or stand and kept falling over and falling asleep. I stopped feeding her uncooked fish and have been cooking it now since maybe the fish had bacterias???

Anyway, she is now getting bread and cooked unseasoned cod fish everyday and she eats pretty good. She also seems to be getting better, the other day she stood up (even though she didnt walk). However, I have read around the internet and from what I read theres maybe something wrong with her liver? I have already taken her to a vet, but they said they didnt know what to do so the only thing they could do was euthanize her. The vet also mentioned that I could go to the capital where there surely was a avian vet. Problem is I'm 18yo and dont have a car, nor can I afford to take the train so far. So I'm stuck with her here, I really dont want her to die, but I really need some help and tips as to what I can do to help her.

Any help is greatly appriciated.
Thank you in advance.

EDIT: Sorry if everything seems a bit messy, but I'm pretty stressed out about the bird.

Please someone has to know whats wrong with the bird. It seems better today but the poop is still green. I read somewhere that it may be liver damage but I have no idea what to do with it. Please, please help me so the bird doesnt die.
