| Most of you will have read about her amazing rescue on PT http://www.pigeons.biz/forums/showthread.php?t=38092&referrerid=560Janet managed to get her transported up here by a courier that happened to be delivering a pigeon to Norwich, the plan was that they would deliver her to these very nice people and that I would collect her from them. Well, bless them, they brought her here. I put her in one of the isolation cages in my garden, then belatedly added a perch (there are shelves there, but pigeons prefer perches) and she made a vigorous attempt at escape, so the photo was taken through the cage wire...better photos will follow as John will be taking her back to Worthing on Sunday. I have been pondering on a name. I have already had a released collared dove called Maggie, she got the name because she was almost eaten alive by maggots. Although Maggie knew what had prompted her name she was still honoured that the dove had been called Maggie (see posts 6 - 8 on this thread http://www.pigeons.biz/forums/showthread.php?t=21043&referrerid=560 ) Then Janet wrote I called on our Guardian Angel, Maggie to help and sure enough everything did all fall into place. I know she helped I feel that the best possible name for this pigeon has to be Maggie. So Maggie she is! | |

| How wonderful! Welcome to your new home, Maggie, and may you be VERY, VERY HAPPY there! Cynthia, I clearly remember the story of your collared dove Maggie -- how could anyone forget the poor little thing's predicament? I am very glad the new Maggie isn't as seriously afflicted. Best wishes for the little one's full recovery, and thank you so much for keeping me posted. | |

| Hi All, I'm trying to catch up with all that's been going on while I've been away and this is the first chance I've had to sit and have a proper read of some of the posts. It's lovely to see Maggie, I have been thinking about her and wondering how she was getting along. Her life has been a bit 'upside down' literally since getting caught in the tree. She deserves a happy life and hopefully will make some new friends and maybe find some love interest once settled. How did her damaged toe turn out Cynthia? Janet | |
