Your blog is a wonderful teaching tool for this to happen.
Thank you so much, Cindy. When I started that blog my ultimate thought was to make people aware that pigeons are something very special and that they are clearly underestimated.
Unfortunately people who would not be interested in pigeons or any birds would not spend their time to browse through that blog either. That's the dilemma.
I even wrote to the University of Cornell in order to gain some more readers of course and to add some "compassionate component" to their scientific research (pigeon watch project). They seemed very interested at first but then one of the responsible deans declined adding my link to their pages, probably for lack of "scientific appearance", but told me that I could send photos - for free
Well - that was it. I am not that stupid and I know how it works at universities - have been there long enough and through the same procedures - profs taking the credit for all the ideas and work of students, writing their books based on the results but the creators of the true work are not even getting mentioned.
