| It is weird summer here in South Africa. Pouring rains every day and every night. Soil is soaked with moisture and one can hardly breath, as it is very hot and with the humidity in the air lack of oxygen is evident. Green house effect. This afternoon was no different. Rain was pouring hard without any sign of stopping. Rain or not, birds need to eat, so I started preparing formula for the sick ones. Once ready, I run toward the loft holding set of full syringes in one hand and cup of formula refill in other. There, on the pile of branches and weeds (and other garden rubbish) was sitting, drenched, small Senegal dove. There was no time for thinking, I left cup on the ground, picked the dove and placed it under my t-shirt. Picked up the cup and run in the loft. Dove immediately settled and quieted feeling the warmth. I switched the heater on in the loft and while waiting to warm up, started feeding my rescues. Soon first set of syringes was empty. I refilled them and went out to wash tubing and my hands for second round. There on the garden sink were perched small drenched Senegal dove. She quickly went under my t-shirt and after short dispute about the position on my navel with the first one, peace was established. Soon I finished feeding my sick ones and started preparing accommodation for newcomers. Perfect person would have everything ready clean baskets, dishes and waterers. I’m almost perfect, but I had no clean dishes. I went out again to wash some and when opened loft door almost stepped on, guess what. SMALL DRENCHED SENEGAL DOVE! I placed her under the t-shirt. This time took longer to decide who is where with obvious preferences of navel position. Baskets were ready, each of them received a plastic bottle of coke 1 liter full of warm water and wrapped in towel. Also 5 ml runny formula with honey and dish of seeds. All three started eating like there is no tomorrow. I went to check whole garden and see if I can break a world record of doves one can fit under the t-shirt, but that was it. At the end of my check, I spend some time lingering on the idea to sit on the ground and wait for someone to collect me all drenched as I was and put me under the t-shirt to warm me up, but quickly gave up that idea and went to take hot shower. This is the smallest one | |

Nope, number 7 and 8 couldn't find the third one for which I'm extremely grateful. Doves are fine, one of them is bit down with energy levels and I started her on antibiotic and honey therapy. I really hope that tomorrow doesn't rain. All cages and loft are in need of general cleaning, birds need sun and bath. Please let the sun shine.

| It is 14:00 and rain started again. Fortunately whole morning was warm and sunny. I managed to take all birds out on the sun, half of the birds took take a bath. Loft is clean again and smells on ACV and wet feathers. Hopefully tomorrow morning other half of the birds will get lucky with bathing. | |

| No wonder all these birds just hang around your garden and wait for you to spot them and pop them under your T shirt. The lovely warm welcome you give them all is amazing. Don't you ever run out of space or patience?? I envy your cool calm way of dealing with every bird who turns up in need of help, it's quite inspiring. If I had a big enough T shirt, ( and a private plane of course) I'd have tucked you up and given you a warm hot meal. and if I had any sun, I'd send that too, but we're sadly lacking in that here at the moment . :Rolling eyes: Janet | |

| Plamen, if you're gonna be using your T-shirt as an aviary, you ought to be wearing a Pigeon Angels T-shirt! Wonderful account of your last three rescues! Hope the one on antibiotics is doing well. Hope you get lots of ! | |

| I have a 'Pigeon Angel' transfer made and it's ready to be put on a T-shirt. Unfortunately, things have been a bit hectic around her lately and I haven't gotten it done. Perhaps this week I can get it finished. If so, I'll t ake a photo of it and get it posted. | |

Janet Thank you Janet! Soon I'll run out os space if this continues in the same numbers like now. Patience, well this birds have only me, I can't afford to run out of it, besides they are the only thing keeping me sane in this crazy life. Teresa, T-shirt must be in really neutral colors to withstand poop, poridge, bleach, and many other substances that get on me during the day.
