| Someone brought a banded pigeon into my hospital tonight.
Severe emaciation, very weak and barely able to stand. No wounds, swellings, mouth clear. Passing yellow urates only, no feces. I warmed the bird and started tube feeding watery formula with a little nutrical, small amounts every 2 hours. I didn't smell anything in the mouth initially, but when tube feeding could smell an odor. Began Flagyl. Is Flagyl once or twice a day?
At this point I've had the bird 8 hours, no improvement as yet. Should I start any other meds? | |

| Poor bird. I'm so sorry. Sorry I didn't see you post last night...I had already gone to bed. FYI...it's always OK to call me if you need to. It doesn't mater if I'm asleep...I wake up very easily. | |

| For the record the bird was a NY Flying Flight, blue bar with white flights, white eyes, and head crest. It had 2 white slip on bands one on each leg numbers 739 MFCF 2009 and 739 MFC 2009. Also a yellow snap band on one leg. | |
