I just want to say I can’t wait to post my video of my lil buddy I call "Homie Bird" or "Home Bird" He's a pigeon I rescued the dad and mother ironic male and female. Very soon laid egg's. "Peter Pan" Lived in a with me and my g/f in a loft. He had a broken leg and was rescued outside @ a bar late . When I met him I thought he was so young couldn't eat I fed him with a oral syringe of cockatiel baby formula. I bounded very well with him, I got him a mate, I found on the street just a young one. She made a excellent friend for him , When I let them go, She came back and now I cant get read of her lol I don’t mind she is now bounding with me very well. "Peter Pan" and "Trinity" had a baby here @ my home. Here is "Homie Bird"
As for "Peter Pan" I may have missed a phew things about him as i said in the introduction section to this forum. "Peter Pan" is the most tamest bird I have ever had in my life really. Especially for a wild bird I was shocked how tame he was. I fell in love with him; I was starting to produce rap music when I first met "Peter Pan".

Peter Pan is very dear. Peter Pan is not a wild bird but a companion bird. It's doubtful he/she would survive if released to the outside.

I do not think pigeons (or birds) like any loud music. Just because humans like some music it does not mean pigeons like it. Pigeons have very sensitive ears, they can hear much better than humans. So, loud music may be irritating to them.

Yes very sensitive ears I know that already. I don't actually play loud music with there birds in the room. Fact my speakers are so lame, I got 2 speakers from a 5.1 speaker set , That just don't wanna pump anything, Lucky if I can get the volume past 50% without the speakers crackling. I got a excellient mic, sometimes i use it for my videos, u may be mistaken with my mic, capturing such quality in the audio. Pigeon's dance to my music, I don't even need speakers. I beatbox. I beatboxed to a bird I met when he was 15, 17 yrs old He was dancing with me...Jakimin u know those big pigeons with the huge Maines? they are very responsive to humans, Specially if u spend all your days with them. Ive worked at pet stores, ive raised pigeons since i was 5.
I know everything about birds. I told my moms bf to not smoke around my birds. ive always had them away from speakers. I treat my birds like humans as well, They need to be bounded and taught they to can live a free life. if they responsive enough to dance they are responsive enough to cope wit the human life as well. As we cope with there needs. its a mix all pet owners should take part in. Its like a relionship.
Pigeon need something we all will supply the needs. at the same time. were mixing in the needs and wants with the people the Pigeon lives with. I watched rise of planet of the apes. And I keep telling my Pigeon there not Pets ever since i watched that movie. Really think apes and any other animal, including birds, humans. All the same, We just paranoid need to be taught ,
Like a wolf. You see a wolf in the woods. Its not u that's scared. It's the wolf . The wolf is more scared. That's why he is open to attack. He's just paranoid. Give the wolf a reason not to be paranoid. Ull be ok. Give a regular Dog reason "TO BE" paranoid. Put wolf urine on your pants! break into any junk yard that way

I still have Homie's Mother and "Homer" our recent rescued Pigeon has mated with her, she is mad in love I never seen such behavior. I think i even have it on video. She does tha most funniest things I have so many videos. My pigeon is 11 weeks old now. Homie Bird is Perching on his own now. That's when i planned on first displaying some videos for you all here at Pigeon Angels. So here goes.
(Edited June10th 2012), I Don't have the mother anymore they are long gone and free in the world, doing fine, The mother met a new mate. Homer another rescued pigeon i set free with her. And I posted a previous video as well to go along with the series of Homie's first weeks.

Great videos! Homie really is a darling, and the video of the two of you outside in the rain is brilliant! What you do for your pigeons, eh! I hope your camera was alright.
What you said about cats is SO true! We should never punish them, but rather reward them for good behaviour. And as more animals are added to a household with a cat, we must always make the cat feel loved, so he doesn't get jealous. It's also a very good idea to handle the birds and then pet the cats, so they get the birds' smell on them. And showing the bird to the cat whilst giving the cat a treat. That way they start associating birds with familiar smells and with good things happening to them, and "adopt" them more readily.
Some cats who are born in an environment with pigeons or other birds are often very friendly to them -- but we still have to keep an eye on them! Others can learn, and in my experience by the time they are 9 years old they will be set in their personality characteristics and good and bad habits. I never leave my cats alone with the pigeons, though they are friendly enough. As you said, sometimes nature just takes over, and it's up to us to be watchful.

I know right, I gotta admit i gave my cat trouble when she brought home a baby bird just yesterday lol. What can u do right? I was sad seeing the poor thing. Sometimes it's ok to give your cats a lil trouble but, Right after i gave her trouble i still sat down right away and pet her. Said i know your trying to be good. And I don't usually put good in a sentence if there close to being bad. So she knew I was mad but still forgave her right away. Cats, dogs and animals never forget how you treat them ,
Its very important to also remember how you treat them. Its easy getting forgiveness from an animal. Specially dogs, Guard dogs, Ive tamed some guard dogs always barked when i walked threw a alley. Next week, never barked at all for months. Anyone else tho, freaks out. You gotta find a center spot all animals have one, Its a possession of something, could be food, could be protection of the family or even territory. Its all about how u act with animals and birds. U can find a bond point.
