Just found this thread, and what a wonderful story! They look so cute together, and happy. You know, the way everything has worked out, it just had to be meant to be. Jenn I loved the video, and can hardly wait to see the next one. Little Phoenix has had quite a journey in life, and it's wonderful to see him happy and mated to such a sweet little dove as Baya. Actually, he turned out to be a pretty lucky little guy after all. Two wonderfully loving families to call his own, and a beautiful little mate. What more could a little dove want?

Thank you! Chuck and Cindy have BIG hearts! So I owe it all to them really! It is just wonderful to watch these too together! They are just such a sweet pair! and Phoenix is such a good daddy.. he switches with Baya to make sure she gets a break from the nest! Just makes me smile when I pass by the bird room! :Yes:

How's it going with Phoenix and Baya, Jenn?

They are just such a sweet pair! They are still nesting with their "fake" eggs~ Phoenix is a good daddy.. he always nudges Baya to relieve her so she can have a break! They are sooo in love!

Phoenix's new thing is HE LOVES to try and fly... LOL.... He stands on one end of his little brick and literally runs to the other end and JUMPS off while trying to fly! It is so funny to watch him. He also loves to do this from the edge of the nest. I put a washcloth down below so when he jumps he lands on it.. and he thrusts himself out in the middle of the cage.. little stinker has learned to land right on his feet and is quite proud! Every time he does it I think of the song; """I believe I can Fly, I believe I can touch the sky, I think about it every night and day, spread your wings and fly away!""" SO CUTE! A PURE JOY to watch them!

He's so cute, and sounds like a really sweet mate.

What a great day we have had today. :Yes: . I always love it when I get to spend AN entire day in the bird room. Even though we deep cleaned it.. I still snuck in my LOVES!

We lowered down Phoenix and Baya's shelf today.. so that Phoenix can get up to it by a ladder. It took him no time at all to JOIN the Red Carpet Club!.. he jumped right on the ladder and UP he went! ((I really think someone forgot to tell him he only has one wing))
Anyways he got up there and he was cracking us up.. he kept BOW-cooing to himself in the mirror for a half an hour and then he would look at the end of the mirror to see where the "other" dove had gone TO! !!!!!! Poor Baya was wondering what the heck was going on! Which you will see her in the nest looking at him in the video!

OH~ and the tiny high pitched beeps are my finches in the background! Of course they had to add their 2 cents too!

That video is just hysterical! and Baya lloking at him like he has lost his mind...

OMG! that is just too funny! What a character he is. Loved it. I was laughing so hard. I bet he made himself dizzy. And she is just looking on as if wondering if he were crazy. Too much.
Even Aries came flying in from the bathroom, where he was on Scooters shelf, admiring himself in the mirror. When he heard Phoenix, he came flying. Now he's running around all excited, and jumping on our heads. Just what I need!

AWE!!! He is a funny .. little bird! He out of allllllll of our birdies has THE most funny personality! He Bow-Coos with Noah, Baya's Daddy in the morning ..and then a few times during the day.. But for the most part he is pretty quite! UNTIL...NOW he has the red carpet club.. and I am SURE BAYA is questioning my judgment at that now!!

Ahhh--- that Love bird in the mirror has gotten very smitten with Phoenix! LOL.. He is up there all the TIME! :Yes: Poor Baya has been sitting on the eggs most of the time... So, I have removed the eggs since they have been sitting on them awhile! I guess that has given Phoenix a lil' shove in the right direction, because now he is busy collecting straw for the nest and leaves the mirror alone! SILLY BIRDIE! Also, we put up a ladder to get to the shelf...and he LOVES to fly off of it! and he does GREAT! I have used a piece of foam and wrapped it with a towel...for a landing pad and he and jumps right off in the air...and lands on his feet most of the time. I tell ya... those two are always giving us our fix of entertainment!
