I sent Niteowl a PM a few days ago and haven't heard back. I don't know if I am sending them correctly. I will have to give her a call today...I am hoping that he will fly out Friday April 9th, but want to make sure that date is good for Jay. What do you think of the two options:
Delta Dash- Costs more, less overall travel time (5 hours), but has to make a connection with a short layover in Minneapolis

Continental-Less expensive, flight straight to Newark, but he will have to sit in a holding area for 5 hours before his flight to Rhode Island.

Either way he has to be at the airport 2 hours prior. Long day for Virgil...

Faon, he'll be alright. We will be at the airport way ahead of time and wait for his arrival. We'll have dinner there. I'm impatient to meet him. And we will have his cage all ready for him when he arrives. I'll even look for a little planter thing like he has for his nest so that it will feel like home. And the best thing...................Cricket will be on the other side of the cage. They will hear each other and be very aware that each is there, but won't be able to see each other. But he will know that she is there and that may comfort him a little. Oh I can hardly wait. I hope they like each other. They would be sooooo cute together. I can hardly wait. I'll be off that weekend which is good, cause I don't think I'll be able to sleep. LOL.

Never in my wildest dream did I ever think I'd be called a Pigeon Pimp...oh well...the title does kind of fit. :Yes:
I can fill you in on what I know and then either Faon or Jay can correct me if I am incorect.
I do think that Virgil will catch a flight east, a week from Saturday. It will be an early morning for that bird, and Faon too as he will need to be at the airport about 5:30 am. It will be a long day for him as he won't be in Jay's care until close to 11pm that night.

Will be waiting patiently for an update after virgil arrives and is settled in, Jay.

Yes, me too! I will be sending positive thoughts for Virgil's long flight.

I admire Faon so very much for buying Virgil a ticket rather than mailing him. Had sh done that, he really would have a long and frightening trip.

I can hardly wait to see him. We'll be there way ahead of time, and will let everybody know how everything went. I'm sure I won't sleep a wink the night before, and will have a hard time sleeping the night we pick him up. Glad I'm off that weekend. :Yes:

His flight is Friday. We'll be there with bells on. I'm getting his cage all set up today. I'm anxious too. Cricket has absolutely no clue. Oh, I hope they like each other. It may take a while for them to get used to each other, but it would be so good for her to have a real mate. I'm going to put two separate cages side by side. I have one very long cage, but once you put in any kind of separator between the two sides, it is really hard to get in there to clean or feed. So they'll be in two separate cages side by side with a towel in between so that they can't see each other. Just hear each other. We'll take our time with this one. There goes my dining room again. LOL. If it takes, then they can move into the long cage for a while. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Faon brought Virgil over yesterday to be wormed and say good bye. He looks great. I told him he was going to be a reverse pioneer but he didn't react. ...

Hope he has a smooth flight and arrives as scheduled.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for all of your warm wishes for Virgil's journey. Virgil's flight just took off and he is now on his way to Newark!! He is traveling with a puppy and the woman who helped me check him in this morning said that the animals travel in their own compartment, not with baggage or packages. Thank goodness! The woman allowed me to velcro his little hedgehog buddy inside his kennel, so at least he has something familiar with him. I will try to post some pictures of the modified kennel, so you get an idea of what it looks like. Virgil is a very lucky pigeon. He will have a great home, lots of friends and hopefully a wife! This is what I wished for for him and I thank Jay and Charis with all of my heart for making it happen.

Have a safe flight Virgil.
Give Jay a little wing slap for me.

Faon...thanks for being a perfect example of a . ...big time.
