| I had that happen to my Sammy several years ago. Please make sure from now on that your parrot doesn't have access to your pigeons. It's really good that the bleeding has stopped. Time will tell what happens to the beak. You will need to hand feed the pigeon and give him water. Probably popping defrosted corn and peas would be the easiest way to feed. Do you know how to do that? I had to hand feed my bird for about 5 weeks. | |

| BTW, she is usually kept separate from the pigeons, but she flew to their cage and they pecked at her, and then she bit him. | |

No, how do I do that? You can hand feed defrosted corn and peas. Run some hot water over them until they are defrosted and slightly warmed. Put the bird on your lap and hold it next to your body. If it helps, you can wrap a towel around it or put it in the sleeve of a tee shirt, with the head out the wrist. That confines them without hurting them and makes it easier to handle. Gently open the beak and pop the piece of corn and peas at the back of the mouth and over the throat. You will need to feed 40-50 per feeding and probably 2-3 times a day. You will need to be very gentle with the beak.

That's what happened to my pigeon too. There had never been a problem before but now I would never trust them together again.

| Here's another pic. He would not eat the peas and corn, so I fed him with a syringe. Do you think that part of his beak will fall off? | |

| Very likely it will fall off, but I hope it will grow back. My thought was for you to put the peas in the back of his throat and then for him to swallow. I never thought he would be able to eat on his own at this point. I think he just hurts too much to do that. Make sure you are giving him enough food so he doesn't get thinand can keep his strenght up...OK? | |

| It wouldn't be a bad idea. The injury is stressful and stress can bring out an outbreak of canker. How is the feeding going? | |

How is the feeding going? Pretty well, considering the fact that he doesn't like me feeding him.

So I mixed up some baby pigeon food and made it so that he could drink it. He loves it. :)
