Thanks, you're all so kind. :)

So I mixed up some baby pigeon food and made it so that he could drink it. He loves it. :)

Good thinking, Batman! That's too funny
I'm glad he's doing well, even if his beak is too sore to appreciate what you're doing for him.
Best wishes for your patient Dove right and for you! Pigeon angel

That's great news! cheers

For those experienced in this kind of injury -- how long does it usually take for new healthy growth on beak injuries?

It takes a while, Teresa. It will never be quite the same as it will always need a careful triming.

I see... That must mean that those birds can never be released, can they?

Crash's beak has never grown back, not at all. BUT having said that it has toughened up and he functions GREAT! When he was first starting to eat alone I used Harrison large pellets and soaked them in warm water to soften them and he gobbled them right up... now he eats his pigeon mix and does great! And I know Pigeon Kid you don't know Crashes story, but he was a feral who had pox and lost the tips of his upper and lower beak! We tease him now.. because his tounge looks like a lizard! Happy also, .....Arnica Montana pellets also DO wonders for injuries!!

I wish you ALL the best! Hang in there

Given the outcome of Crash's pox problem, he looks absolutely wonderful. Pigeon angel
