Important Video about Bird Pus

I know the patient in this video is a parrot rather than a pigeon but I wante dto post it so you can all see what pus in a bird looks like.
Many don't understand that the consistancy is different than ours. If a bird has an abcess, it doesn't come to a head as it would in a human but the pus needs to be surgically removed.

Charis, that was a really good video to show people. Think it helps them to understand. Pus in a birds abscess or injury isn't something you can just wipe away. It is a solid substance, kinda like what you get with canker or something similar. Interesting video.

Although not about pus, it is interesting to see what a bird surgery is like.

Exactly...it's very different from what we would have with an infection.

Poor bird, so much pus in that abcess! I loved the last pics, after recovery!

Even then, pigeon pus and parrot pus are very similar, and this video illustrates the problem, and the type of intervention required, perfectly. It's a great learning tool.
