| Oh, they're SO cute! Those expressive faces are just precious! Their feathers are now changing daily, and it's great to see the colours and patterns becoming defined. It's amazing how quickly they grow! Dad is doing a great job! I hope Luna comes back. | |

| light was not good on thursday and friday, i did take pics but they were not clear yesterday was clean up time again so much better opportunity the squeakers have such different personalities, Sora interacts with me - wouldn't go as far to say that he likes me but he waggles his wings & explores my hand with his beak Tsai Yun is a madam just like her mum - she goes through the whole repertoire of defensive & attacking behaviour....stands tall, inflates her crop, makes huffy noises, draws her head right back before pecking me and the other day she wing-slapped me ...none of this hurts me, but i hope it might make any future enemies back off i haven't seen Luna, that's a week now...but Apollo is working hard having spied Sora right in the middle of the balcony i modified their corner to prevent a confrontation between pij & postman, plan is to allow them to walk along but not across it was fascinating watching Apollo work it out the next morning...he walked along the board i had put there a few times, considering it carefully; then he jumped up onto it looking into the nest, flew to the balcony rail to look down from a different angle; then back to the balcony floor to pace up & down a bit more before jumping onto the board and diving into the gap to the nest all the time dad & kids where talking to each other seems he is very dedicated, and to my untrained eye the babies are looking good...yesterday's pics: looking very grown-up now sister & brother "we can turn our heads right round" Sora wiggling his wings at me eye contact lovely markings saturday's videoafter a bit of flapping and hopping out of the tray they will sit quite patiently for me to clean | |

| I am so sorry that you haven't seen Luna. If Apollo is raising them on his own, he is doing a wonderful job...with your help!
They are beautiful babies.

| saw my over-the-road neighbour talking to a man with a l..o..n..g ladder on his truck, they both looked up at the pigeon roof meanwhile, back on my balcony, i think Apollo is calling the youngsters to venture out from the nest he doesn't fly straight off after feeding time but hops from one level to another cooing emphatically the "babies" are looking very grown-up and exercising their wings a lot so i'm going to post all the pics today...as these could be near the end of them synchronised staring: ...her with the camera again - can't you do something? er ...i could try showing her my bum? she's not taken the hint - just pose so we look good and a vid of them showing off their wings | |

| Sweet babies...I hope no evil befalls them. Now just because they fly away doesn't mean you should fly away from us...OK? You are highly valued here. | |

| I love the new photos and the captions are wonderful. The 'testing' of the wings is too precious. I suspect they will stick around. So you must keep your camera handy. | |

i really hope so, and i try to keep my camera at the ready...one of the reasons i bought a compact digital well today has been eventful, so i'm putting the big story on another thread...hope that's ok? here but for this one - here are today's portraits: Tsai Yun Sora Tsai Yun still fluffs up when i go near her & will bite me...doesn't hurt, and it's easy enough to pick her up at cleaning time Sora doesn't mind me, i think he tries to preen my hand

| pijies woke me up this morning, i could hear them flapping Apollo was here before it was properly light, but the squeakers didn't leave with him they were pottering around on the balcony when i got up i took them some water; as this was the first time i'd done it i took a jug to fill the bowl with - having read that pouring the water can encourage them but they didn't need persuading! Sora wandered over straight away and put his beak in...then he ran squeaking happily to his sis...they rubbed beaks and he turned right back, Tsai Yun following she drank straight away too, then walked into the bowl even though it was barely big enough for a footbath, i went off to fetch an oven dish funnily enough today Tsai Yun wasn't anywhere near as stroppy as she has been - i guess her little bit of freedom has given her some confidence both squeakers were still here when i returned home from work and they seemed pretty relaxed, but i think they met the postie this morning - i'm told the mail was dropped on the mat rather than put through the door | |

| Why is it that every time I see pictures of baby pijs, be it dirty or clean, cute or ugly - well , they're all cute, I kinda cry remembering my pijs when they were babies. Mama pij reaction? Sorry for the drama......but yes seriously, that's how I feel. | |
