El's dish is the little one. The big one he is eating from is the communal dish I prepared for the other pigeons. You know...the vegies always look best in a bigger dish.

I thought that might be the case! But frankly, if I saw one cream cake or a whole plate full, I know which one I would go for...

That is such a special picture of Ellie. I see the little dish to the left, but he just grabbed ahold and wanted to be a part of it all! Bless his heart He is such a good little boy. I am so happy to see him interacting in your home. It just makes my heart glad =] Thank you sooooo much for what you are doing for Ellie!

It's OK. No he hasn't been introduced to the other pigeons yet.

El has moved into the room with the other pigeons. He is in his cage but he can see them.
He has tried to impress them by prancing back and forth in front of his mirror... bowing and cooing. Some have looked at him with curiosity but for the most part, they are paying him no mind.
He did spend some time in the window box today, watching the outside ferals. He really loved it.

That sounds wonderful, he must have had a great time!

Every time I saw Ellie bowing [bobbing up and down], prancing about in front of his mirror and cooing, it was recognized as what I had seen in males before. It was sensed that Ellie was letting me know he was the boss. So I would just sit down and visit with him and tell him how pretty he was, ['Ellie is a pretty bird' and 'My, my, my, what beautiful feathers you have. I am so impressed']; then he would stretch out a wing on one side while simutaneously stretching out his leg on the same side; and then he would clean his little feathers up a bit, ruffle his feathers so he looked so poofy and pretty--then I would tell him, "Oh Ellie--you're so beautiful!! I have never seen such a preeeettty bird. Oh my, you just shine like the stars in the heavens!"

Then I would hear a crash, a yeowl, and there would be scratching alllll the way from top of the bathroom door to the floor. My little girl heard me, was on the dryer and tried to jump on a hook at the top of the door or something--in any event, she had heard mama talking sweet to someone else besides her, and wanted to come on it and be looovvveeed too. Posted are a few photos of Madeline, "Maddy". The bathroom was her nursery also!
