| What a scare indeed, for both you and the little one!! So glad to hear she returned unharmed. I would have been celebrating the same way, only replacing a glass of wine with a large mug of coffee and Kahlua. | |

| There is a storm coming. I can hear the wind getting stronger and sound of thunder closing. One more reason to be happy that baby is safe. | |

| Couple of days ago I moved youngster with another dove and they are doing fine. There was a brief dispute who owns which perch and after baby won higher one (other dove is PMV survivor and cannot perch to high) everyone is happy. | |

| How lovely they have each other to share their lives with. It must help so much with their recovery and make it so much better for their peace of mind as they adjust to their new circumstances.
Wonderful pictures, lovely birds Plamen.

| lSo beautiful and how interesting. So these doves have different (cheeky) behaviours over regular pijjies and and far wilder in their desires to stay free! Also read your info on pmv and it was very informative and useful, too.

| This evening while going out in the garden, I noticed one of my white ferals foraging in the flowerbeds. It was getting dark and usually they are not so late out. I decided to check on him and as approached, he waited until last moment and fly away. Behind him it was sitting this little fellow and waiting patiently to be picked up. There is a storm coming and it is not safe to be out when neighbors cat goes hunting, so I took him in. It was dark inside and my phone camera is not the best one for night shots. | |

| It wouldn't surprise me if the white pij had been protecting the little one while waiting for you to spot them. What a little cutie, plamenh. I'll bet he was ever so grateful to be picked up, especially if a storm was brewing. And a 4 legged predator was within lurking distance. | |

| Wow! There is no doubt in my mind, Plamenh, that the white dove was looking out for the "little" one. I just looked at some picture posts on the pigeons and people.blog of a pigeon landing by a sick or injured pij, and actually trying to encourage it not to give up, encouraging it to fly, and another picture of a pigeon actually trying to "pick up" a sick or injuried pigeon (perhaps his mate?) and fly it away to safety (over 4 tries, just incredible). How I wish that we could convince more people of how wonderful and like us they are in their emotional connection.....maybe it is time I set out as an advocate for them....I have been doing some research with Humane Society and B.C. Wildlife Federation....I have the Head of the Humane Society, Peter Fricker, promising to watch the video "Pigeons In The City" regarding trying to get Vancouver interested in setting up City run dove cotes. He will e-mail me his thoughts re a campaign of education, which he may put his support behind, once he sees the video. LOL | |

| Well, I have never seen this before. In any case if there were not the presence of my white feral, I would’ve not spot this baby. Baby was with full crop and I had some experience when baby doves beg pigeons for food. I need to see with my eyes to believe that pigeon would feed baby Senegal dove though. Anyway, the storm was bad with wind and rain and today is rather cold morning 12 degrees Celsius. Baby is tucked nicely in the nest bowl and I gave it 7 ml formula. There was nice firm pile of poop around. | |

I really wish you the very best in your efforts to instigate city dove cotes. Life could be so much better for the birds if these were more readily available. Well done so far. Plamen, a very touching tale. Wishing the little dove a good recovery. Janet | |
