Yep-- this is how I do mine... too... Others will argue..that its best to dilute in a very tiny amount of water and syringe it... BUT I don't do it that way... I wash my hands and dry them so they are extremely dry and then I just pop it in.

I have had Crash on them since he has arrived up until about 2 days ago. When you see that they are healing thats a good indication that the remedy is working and I would continue for another 3-4 days after that! UPDATE on Crash: He has improved by leaps and bounds! Yippie!!! I will get a picture this afternoon and post it! I have not had to hand feed him for the last 3 days. This weekend he got another bath... and his feathers are looking the best they ever have! I tried the brushes... and the small one helped a little... but using my finernail seems to be best...as the bristles are hard to break that actual shaft part. I am going to worm him today...and move him into the bird room to be with the others...for company! He is missing a lot of tail feathers.. I think this is one time I gotta say...I can't wait until he goes through his moult! :That\\\'s so f he had a few blood feathers in that area from what I see dried blood inside?? Will they fall out?? idk.. BUT... none the less he is feeling and looking much better!

| Not sure what you mean by he had a few blood feathers. Blood feathers are the growing feathers. There is a vein inside and blood to give nourishment to the growing feathers. Why would they fall out? | |

forgive me.....Maybe thats not the right word.... he has two that I can see that are filled with tons of dry blood... now almost looks black near the shaft part of his feathers.... so I was wondering because of that... would they fall out??? also...he has lost a toe nail....because of the lesions that were on his feet~ Here's the latest picture:

| Crash looks so much better.......bless his little heart.......he is a real little trooper. I wouldn't worry so much about his feathers, at his next molt most of all the dirty, greased feathers will be replaced. I am just so happy and thankful that after all he has been through with his beak he is able to eat on his own.......... He is coming along beautifully............you have done a great job with him Jenn. Louise | |

| The blood feather will fall down as every other. Dangerous is if the shaft is broken when they are alive, because of the bleeding. If this happens you need to remove remaining of the shaft and apply slight preasure. All birds have them. Nail should come right, but may be deformed same as the beak. He looks alert and despite missing parts of the beak seems it is doing well. You are his saviour Jenn. | |

Crash is doing very well... I do believe that HE is a SHE..... She is very quite... and very observent. I have moved her into my bird room....And she loves to watch all the comotion going on. She has a stuffed animal in her cage and she loves him to death... she preenes it... and snuggles on top of it. I started letting her out towards the evening to get exercise. That way I can catch her when I need to... even though she trusts me now... she still has that..look like ... hmmm... I trust you and all.. .But I like you better when your not so close! LOL... Her Beak is still soft and isn't hardening. She eats and drinks like nothing ever happened! She does preen herself now... But it does not remove the feather shaft entirely. She will not be able to be outdoors. Indoors is where she will stay... She is just such a sweet bird. Her feather condition is looking fantastic... She is pure black and her feathers just shimmer now... She makes me smile and cry all at the same time. Her is picture perfect..... and only pijie people would understand that I am THRILLED at that! AT some point I am going to try pijie pants on her to see how she does... that way she can be out a little more.
