| the ortho wax isn't working once it gets cold it slips right off and Precious' beak doesn't stay warm enough. I tried a snap leg band... but no luck with keeping it on using the wax. I'm trying the sticky part og a band aide right now If it wasn't for her having to breath I could get the tape up higher then it would work but Precious insist that she cannot breath through her ears Does the museum wax stay soft so it would stick together & would it be easy to get off & on?? | |

| I think I'm just going to have to hold her beak in position for the 15-20 mins. throughout the day.
This seems to be the best option right now.

| Robin - I don't know how I missed this thread. It reads like a thriller. I just read through all the 19 pages in one time. Oh boy, incredible what this little guy has to go through right from the beginning. I so very much hope it will have a happy end with all your love and dedication and commitment to save this sweet bird. A big to you and everybody who is involved to help. Amazing story, amazing people you all are!!!! | |

| Robin.............I am so sorry you have been so frustrated with trying to correct Precious' little beak. I know you have tried just about everything.......only thing left is the museum putty, and God only knows if that would work. I hope the holding the beak in place will be successful for her. I know you're doing everything you can. Sending you positive healing thoughts and a huge Louise | |

| Robin, I'm sorry to hear that none of the methods to tape/hold her beak in place haven't worked. I've racked my brain, but can't think of anything else. However, would it be viable to wash the tip of her beak with a little mild soap to remove the natural greasy coating of it and then trying again with a thin strip of painter's tape? Wishing you both all the best. | |

Wishing you both all the best. Precious gets so excited because she thinks I have food, even when she has a full crop, that she literally starts salivating, kinda like a dog but not as bad, so the tape won't stick. I was so hoping that her beak would be small like the Egyptain Swifts are suppose to be, but as of now the top mandible is shorter than the bottom so it gets stopped by the bottom mandible... hope all that made some sence. Thank you.

| If everything works in my favor I'll be gone for a couple of days visiting my sister. Precious will be making the journey with me and of course my ever present shadow my boston terrier Honee. I just wanted you all to know so you wouldn't worry about Precious, my sister doesn't have a computer, when you don't hear from me. We should be back by Sat. night. Hugs to all. | |

| I'm back!!!! We decided that it would be less stressful for Precious to travel so she stayed home with my other half. Honee & I had a nice relaxing time I got to see my sisters new house and catch up on the gossip with her & my brother-in-law while my daughter visited a few friends. Precious is doing great except for her beak My husband sat holding her beak in place for 15-20 min. intervals throughout the day all wkend. But I don't see a change. I'll try to post some photos tomorrow. | |

| I'm glad you had a nice visit with your sis, Robin. My sister lives about 1000 miles away & I so miss our visits. Will continue to think positive that Precious' beak corrects itself. She is such a little doll baby. | |

| Hi Robin and Precious' aunties !!! Sorry I've been so absent - migraines have kept me away from the computer for a few weeks, but - not a day has gone by, Robin, without my thoughts of and prayers for you and little Precious! I love that video - she is just so...Precious!!! I'm so happy that the Spartrix was effective, too - yay!!! If you want to try one more type of tape, you might have a go with the green florist's tape... Otherwise I have a suggestion - which might speed up the process of the hand holding method (depending upon where the source point of the misalignment is). It would involve that her bill be held so that the top bill actually crosses over the bottom (just a little !!) in the opposite direction from how it crosses now, instead of it being held so that they're even. The theory is that once the bill is let go of and she relaxes it, it would tend to go back to the point midway between where you hold it and where it is now. This is based on how my dentist instructed me to realign my jaw. The only problem I have with this suggestion is that I can't tell from the photos of Precious if it is the base of the mandible where the misalignment begins OR if it is just the tip that is is bent. If it is just the tip that is bent, than overcompensating by applying such pressure to the base of the mandible would not be a good idea. Now I'll be thinking of you every time I'm working my jaw and as always, my loving thoughts and prayers for all success are with you! | |

| Thank you, Cindy! (And what pretty roses :) So far so good now... though a slight headache still lingers. So if you don't see me much around, it's because I'm still on a bit of a "computer fast".
Best wishes, | |

Teresa- Precious & I appreciate all the support  I've just about given up on ever straightening her beak Cindy- I have 3 sisters that live 4 hrs. away, all in different directions, that I rarely get the time to see So this visit was great, I went at just the right time to get away. Keep those postive thoughts coming!
