Virgil in need of friends and a forever home...

yeah how are they?
Pictures are very adorable.

I have absolutely no idea of how they're doing today. LOL. I worked most of the day, and when I come home they aren't doing anything. Crickets cage is always soaked, as she is bathing in her water dish. She must think this is just grand having her own private pool. So I'm fixing up something else for her to bath in. Think she wants to be clean to impress her new little friend. I did notice yesterday though, that Virgil is attacking the image in his mirror with more gusto. Do you think maybe he sees it as an intruder? Don't know. And Cricket sits and watches him.


It seems that when he is showing interest, she walks away,


And Vise Versa. When she comes over to check him out, he walks away.

They have me very confused at this point. Just a minute. I hear something going on in the other room. I'll go check and report back. Cross your fingers.

Okay. Cricket was climbing on the side of the cage near Virgils cage. Not sure whether she wants to cuddle or kill him. But was definitely interested in getting over there where he is.
They do go back and forth from the cage side where they can see each other.



And Cricket seems to be trying to find a way into him. Kinda cute. She keeps looking up, as if she thinks that she can go over the wall. LOL.


Then Virgil tried coming through the wall.




Then he went to his nest bowl, and laid on his tummy and called that low coo to her.


When that didn't work, he did what any red blooded American pigeon would do.............................................He buried his head under his hedgehog and cooed louder!


He is so darn cute!
But I'm not sure how impressed Cricket is with the hedgehog.

Cricket must view the hedgehog as competition.

That is too funny!! Those pictures a too much! Looks like Virg is going to get her attention no matter what it takes! Poor Cricket, she must think... "Who is this nut?"



How is Aries doing? Is he still talking up a storm?

Actually, Aries is very aggressive. He lands on Scooters shelf behind me at the computer, and pulls my hair and pecks my head, and bitches at me. Then last night he landed on my shoulder and grabbed my ear and pulled it..................................HARD!!!
He's something else. :For Shame:

I am THRILLED Virgil finally has company. He will have everything he needs to have a normal pigeon life (other than flying of course). I want him to be happy and I know that is now possible with Jay and her family. He really hit the jackpot.

WOW! That sounds painful!! Aries seems to have been seriously put through the psychological ringer. Could it is his skewed way of saying thank you, your the best? You know, like the little boys in school who sit behind the girls they like and pull their pigtails?....

I think Aries needs therapy and it's no wonder after what he has been through. :eek:

It sounds like you're going to have to have a few 'birdie chats' with Aries, Jay.

I have a feeling that he would be kinda rough on a mate. Don't know. Just have that feeling, and I hate to put anyone of my hens through that. I'll keep him in a bit longer.

Okay.............................now things are beginning to look promising.


Cricket is sure there is a way in there. And it looks as thoufh Virgi is sitting back waiting for her to find it! Sound about right?
