Another baby....

This is now how Precious spends a bit of her mornings... sitting on a heat pad in front of the computer, napping off & on, preening every part of her body she can reach and ALWAYS talking.

I can tell she is going to be the office Queen


Charis since this mornings feeding she is now eating 8 ml. of formula!!!!

This is a great day for us! Could life get any better????

( I know her bottom beak is a bit off but I'm hoping it will straighten out as she grows. If it doesn't well I'm not perfect either so we fit together! )

Ahh...doesn't Precious look adorable with her pin feathers coming in. I think her beak will straighten out.

This photo was taken yesterday and this morning I noticed that the feathers on Precious's
wings have grown even more!

We are seeing changes everyday with her growth :Yes: She is taking 18 ml. of formula at each feeding, she now goes through the night without having to be fed.

Yesterdays weight was 79 grams... I'm sure she weighs more today!

And best of all her lump hasn't grown

Today I will be cleaning out the brooder, move it into our living room, this way see will be where all the action is!

Wow...from 8 to 18 mls is quite a change.

It must be wonderful to sleep through the night.

It seems as though she's had this huge growth spurt and can't seem to eat enough!

Robin................I'm thrilled to death with the progress that little Precious is making. I knew you and Precious could do it Her growth spurt is a direct result of her increased nutrition intake. She is now exactly where she should be for a baby of her age.....between 15/20 ml per feeding. She will catch up in no time at all now.

She looks so alert and adorable.

I'm SO happy that Precious is developing so well and so quickly! She's adorable, and I loved the video and the photos -- she's growing visibly, daily!

How is our Precious today?

Precious has been moved from the incubator and into the brooder. We have the brooder in
our living room so she can get used to the daily comotion.


She wieghed in today at 97 grams! Her pin feathers are coming through and boy are they itchy!!!!

I'm sure she appreciates all the action and feels she is part of life there at the sanctuary.

It very well could be similar to your incubator. :Yes: Our brooder is at least 25 yrs. old I used it for the baby parrots we raised.

The incubator we use is an egg incubator without the egg turner. I have found that these are easier to regulate the temps. for tiny babies.

Mine must be 15 years old, at least. The only issue I have with it is that there isn't a thermomator and so I had to add one and the water runs out quickly in the little pull out reserve. To remedy the water issue, I have taken to including ab open bottle of water in one of the back corners.
Honestly though, I don't know what I'd do with out it.

I also had to add a thermomator & humidity gauge. I also have a thermometer with a a probe in the nest so I can see what the temps. are there too. :Yes: just to be safe.

I never used the little water tray, its way to small for me. I'm like you and have a wide mouth container with water in it. (Theres not one in the photo cause I was cleaning it)

I use this brooder for all kinds of ill smaller reptiles too.

Precious looks great in her photo today.

Wow......97grams......she is really growing by leaps and bounds.

Precious is looking great! Can't wait to see what her 'grown-up' feathers are going to look like!

Thanks everyone for cheering on Precious as she continues to grow.

Yesterday was a busy day so I didn't realize how low the baby formula had gotten so it was decided that the time was right to start Precious on warm peas & corn.
Feeding the peas & corn was a big hit not only for Precious but also the 4 Boston Terriers that we live with. The dogs love to eat the beans, carrots & lima beans that Precious doesn't eat!

This morning Precious weighed in at 129 grams. She reminds me of a toddler that is just learning how to walk when I let her stretch her legs out of her nest.

Perfect tiemin...I was just this minute, wondering how Precious is doing ...

This auntie would love another video or picture when you have time. I want to see those pretty feathers. She must be getting really cute by now.
